Cytomegalovirus retinitis - fundoscopic examination

Funduscopic examination of a 16-year-old girl with HIV infection and cytomegalovirus retinitis. There are extensive areas of hemorrhage, with white retinal exudates. Children with cytomegalovirus retinitis usually present with painless visual impairment (courtesy of Dr. David Coats, Houston, Texas).
