Kline selected fellow in American Academy of Nursing

Houston - Dr. Nancy Edmunds Kline, an assistant professor of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, recently was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing.

Kline, who also serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Texas Children’s Hospital, was one of 73 fellows inducted into the academy this year. The academy recognizes achievements in a variety of disciplines within the field of nursing.

Kline has 20 years of clinical experience working with children who have chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Her research interests include supportive and palliative care, and symptom management.

She has authored over 50 journal articles and textbook chapters, and has given over 90 national and international presentations. She currently serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing.

The academy, which now includes about 1,400 fellows, was established in 1973 to provide visionary leadership to the nursing profession.
