An ambitious program of education and training for Mexican health professionals
|
In collaboration with Hospital Infantil de Mexico, the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative is involved in an ambitious program of education and training for Mexican health professionals, and a clinic development program to improve care for HIV-infected Mexican children. The program is supported by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. The program in Mexico, called Una Mano a Los Mas Pequenos (A Hand to the Smallest Ones), has several important components. Baylor and Hospital Infantil have collaborated in sponsoring and conducting a series of symposia and workshops on pediatric HIV/AIDS for Mexican health professionals. Over 2000 Mexican professionals have attended these meetings over the past five years. Several Spanish language educational resources have been created as a result of these symposia.
