December 2000

Case of the Month: A previously healthy 12-year-old girl presented with a ten-day history of frontal headache, intermittent fever, and emesis. Double vision developed immediately prior to hospital admission. Physical examination revealed bilateral sixth nerve palsy. Her past medical history was unremarkable, and her family reported that she had never missed a day of school due to illness. Work-up included head CT scan. What is your diagnosis?
